Description

RSVP by 10th October 5pm

Food Growing Schools: London is an ambitious Lottery funded project, supported by the GLA that aims to get every London school growing their own food. Garden Organic as the lead organisation is working together with partners, Capital Growth, the Soil Association's Food For Life project, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), School Food Matters and Trees for Cities.

Join us to celebrate the achievements of the project and to hear about the transformational effects of food growing first hand from teachers and pupils that have been involved.

Thousands of London school children are already growing food.

The celebration event starts with an opportunity to see schools at work with a visit to our sixth schools Marketplace, run in partnership with Capital Growth. Pupils will be showcasing their growing efforts, selling their school-grown produce and products such as jams and juices at reasonable prices!

The event at London’s Living Room will be opened by Joanne McCartney AM, Deputy Mayor of London and followed by inspirational presentations, a look at the findings of our research and a tasty networking lunch.

Other guest speakers will include:

Chris Collins (Broadcaster and Head of Horticulture at Garden Organic), James Campbell (CEO Garden Organic), Professor Judy Orme MFPH (MSc Health Promotion), and Mat Jones MPhil, BA, PG Cert (University of West England).

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

We hope to see you on 13 October!
