Event description
An evening of readings and musical performances to celebrate the life and work of the poet Hamish Henderson.

About this Event

Please join Blackwell’s and Polygon to celebrate the publication of Hamish Henderson: Collected Poems, published to celebrate the centenary of Scotland’s foremost poet and folklorist. In this landmark publication, the first collected poems since the poet’s death, editor Corey Gibson brings together Henderson’s well-known works alongside several previously unpublished pieces, all of which are faithful to Henderson’s commitment to the ‘carrying stream’ of the oral folk tradition. Come along and enjoy an evening celebrating the life and work of Hamish Henderson.

There will be readings and musical performances from a host of special guests speakers, including:

Liz Lochhead

Dolina MacLennan

Aonghas MacNeacail

Roseanne Watt

Janet Henderson

Corey Gibson

and music from Alison McMorland.
