A celebration of 24 years of Ric Hools’s ‘Poetry Upstairs’ with readings from Christopher Meredith & Phil Bowen
Christopher Meredith is a novelist and poet. Born in Tredegar and now living in Brecon, he has been a steelworker and a schoolteacher and is an emeritus professor at The University of South Wales. His novel Shifts was shortlisted in 2014 for the title of Greatest Welsh Novel of All Time. His most recent novel is The Book of Idiots, and most recent poetry collection is Air Histories (Seren). ies (Seren).
Phil Bowen is a poet, performer and teacher whose recent work includes the filmscript 'Love Somehow' about Caitlin Thomas shown last November at BAFTA and the short collection 'This Here Guitar' - poems about Rock 'n' Roll from the fifties onwards. His biography of the Mersey Poets - 'A Gallery to Play To' is being re-printed by Liverpool University Press later this year.
