Join Dr Roger Wolman, Rheumatology and Sport & Exercise Medicine Consultant, Dr Julian Widdowson, Consultant Sport and Exercise Medicine and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine and Dr Philip Batty, Consultant Sport and Exercise Physician in our live broadcast to discuss the impact on recovery and the importance of rehabilitation for patients suffering from post COVID-19 syndrome.

Dr Wolman will present the impact on the recovery and the importance of a structured rehabilitation process followed by a live Q & A with both Dr Widdowson and Dr Wolman.

Dr Wolman worked at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital for over 20 years as an NHS Consultant in Rheumatology and Sport & Exercise Medicine. During this time he developed a wide experience in the management of patients with arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and back pain. He also set up and ran a Sport and Exercise Medicine clinic.

Dr Widdowson trained at University College Hospital, London. He has over 25 years of experience in Sport and Exercise Medicine and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine. Dr Widdowson is the Clinical Director for the MSc course in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Bath, a postgraduate course for doctors training in Sport and Exercise Medicine. He is an Assessor for the General Medical Council for the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine. He is a tutor and examiner for the Immediate Care in Sport, a course for medical practitioners working pitch-side in sport.

Dr Philip Batty has been involved in elite sports medicine for over 20 years. He worked as the deputy club doctor at Manchester United between 1996 and 1999, before joining the Blackburn Rovers Football Club as Head of Sports Medicine. Combining this role, he took care of a range of athletes, both professional and recreational, of all ages and abilities at the English Institute of Sport, and Sedbergh School.

He became head of Sports Medicine at Manchester City Football Club in 2011-2012, the first year they won the Premier League. Following this, he took the role of Senior Team Doctor for the England Rugby from 2012-2014. He is the Team Doctor for Middlesex County Cricket Club and Consultant to the English National Ballet.
