A Conference for Private Sector Landlords

Join us on Tuesday 21st October at the University & Professional Development Centre in Bury St Edmunds for a conference designed especially for landlords in the Private Rented Sector.

This FREE event will be packed with information about the Renters Rights Bill, proposed new EPC regulations and the ongoing issues of damp and mould. The event will also feature guidance and information from a range of speakers covering “Making Tax Digital”, mortgage advice, finance, legislation updates, practical ideas to help landlords and letting agents engage with tenants and more.

The keynote speaker will be Suzanne Smith, who is founder of The Independent Landlord website and YouTube channel. She is a former lawyer turned private landlord who has been offering practical guidance on navigating changes around the implementation of the Renters’ Rights Bill to her 10,000 newsletter subscribers.

There will be a panel discussion as well as workshops where you can get your questions answered by our experts, as well as ample opportunity to network with our speakers and visit stands hosted by industry professionals.

Registration opens at 8.30am with coffee and the opportunity to network and browse our sponsors stands to pick up useful information.

The morning session begins at 9.30am.

A buffet lunch will be served at 1pm with another opportunity to network and visit stands from relevant organisations.

The afternoon session commences at 2pm.

Tea and coffee will be served at 3.30pm along with a final opportunity to browse our exhibitors stands before we close at 4pm.

West Suffolk Lettings Partnership
West Suffolk Lettings Partnership (WSLP) is dedicated to connecting local landlords and estate agents to facilitate housing for tenants seeking private rental accommodations in West Suffolk.

WSLP provides a variety of incentives within the private rental sector to support both landlords and tenants. These incentives include the guaranteed rent scheme, the management of larger deposits, regular property inspections, a £250 contribution towards end-of-tenancy clean for tenants with pets, and access to a dedicated landlord liaison officer to assist with tenancy matters.

Suffolk Centres for Warmth

The Suffolk Councils have secured funding from Cadent, the largest gas distribution network operator, to deliver a programme to support residents who are struggling to keep warm. The project is being hosted by East Suffolk Council and links with Safe Suffolk Renters but is available to all residents, not just those in rented housing.

The project is also raising awareness of the potential risks of Carbon Monoxide in the home, how to access extra help via the priority service register and advice around fuel costs, energy efficiency, welfare benefits and healthy homes.
