A Connected Midlothian: Leading the Way in Belonging and Cohesion
Overview
Why This Matters
Midlothian is changing rapidly and leading the way in how communities respond to growth and diversity with courage and clarity. This event brings partners, practitioners and communities together to build a shared, forward-looking understanding of cohesion: what it looks like, how it feels, and how we strengthen the belonging that is already a hallmark of Midlothian. Together, we shape places where everyone feels safe, valued and connected.
Why Attend?
. Understand why cohesion matters now for a changing, increasingly diverse Midlothian and what this means for your role.
. Strengthen cross-sector relationships so partners, services and communities can act with trust and shared purpose.
. Leave with confident, practical actions you can implement immediately to build belonging in your organisation or setting.
What You Will Take Away
- A shared vision and practical “Belonging Toolkit” defining what cohesion should look and feel like across Midlothian.
- Clear, ready-to-use approaches to strengthen belonging in services, schools and community settings.
- Confident communication and reporting frameworks to support young people and adults in understanding racism, speaking up and being heard.

FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
ID is required if you have booked a discounted rate ticket. We will need proof of age or proof of receipt on benefits.
There is not set minimum age to attend our classes - but anyone must be able to fully engage with the content of the class and we recommend children under 16 only attend classes when they are coming with an adult who is also taking part in the class.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are available up to 1 week before the start of the programme.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It is useful to have EITHER an e ticket or a print out to confirm a place, but we will have a full list of the people who have booked and paid, so any form of ID will usually suffice.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, you are free to change your information, however if your booking ends up changing price, please contact us for help.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Yes, but please contact us if the person you want to transfer your booking to is not in the same price bracket as you are.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
