Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Recently left university from studying a creative degree? Great.

Feeling like you have no idea what you're doing? Fab.

Know if you don't talk to someone other than your cat soon, you're gunna go insane? Cool!

Us lot at Plant NOMA want to help. We want to bring recent creative graduates together to rekindle that sense of community that you experienced in univerisity that so easily is lost when continuing your practice in your solo studio space (a.k.a. your mum's spare room). Talking to each other about projects can accelerate and enhance their possibility, as well as provoke ideas and direction that you wouldn't of thought of by yourself.

'A Creative Bunch' will happen once a month to bring together all kinds of creatives to catch up, explore and critique. Anybody from textiles artists to photographers, 3DDer's to graphic designers are welcome, and everyone else in between. Each session we'll also invite speakers to talk about their career paths within the industry, giving examples of their successes but also their failures. These will be familiar faces we know such as tutors from MSoA, to creatives well into their careers, or those that have been out of university for a few more years than ourselves. (If another knows of anyone they'd like to hear from or wish to invite give me an email: sophieboobyer@yahoo.co.uk, and we'll see what we can do).

Plus, during each session we'll have a small creative activity to explore a new skill, but mostly to have fun. During this first meeting, we're going to hold a competition to see who can throw the tallest cylinder.

So please do come down to have a good ol' chat and talk all things creative with people you know, and others you don't.
