A Crown of Stars - Christmas carols from across Europe
Date and time
Description
Join us in the Dickensian surroundings of Brompton Cemetery as we celebrate Europe's wonderful heritage of Christmas carols. Covering around 700 years, from Portugal to Eastern Europe, the music in this programme seeks to cherish the shared tradition of beautiful music at Christmas time; a unique culture which has endured throughout history, no matter the political climate.
The programme includes traditional carols from France, Germany, Italy and Spain amongst others, as well as several congregational carols (sung in English).
Admission is free, with a retiring collection. Refreshments will be available in the Chapel from 2pm.
This concert is presented by the Fracture Collective, a group of professional musicians specialising in innovative performances in beautiful spaces, in grateful collaboration with the Friends of Brompton Cemetery.
