About this Event

Our national conference will be held online across 3 days, 21-23 April 2021, ending with the celebratory CHWA 2021 Awards Gathering.

Ticket sales close at midday on Monday 19 April.

Our core theme of care includes caring for each other, caring for the environment and caring economies. We will be delving into the big topics amplified by Covid-19, including practitioner support and grappling with the sector’s role in challenging health inequalities, reflecting on how we can work more collaboratively and more intersectionally to address the multiple emergencies we face; a global health pandemic, the climate and ecological emergency, and rising inequality.

The full conference runs from 11:30am on Wed 21 April to 3:30pm on Friday 23 April. You're welcome to come in and out - and most of the sessions will be made available to delegates afterwards.

Our cancelled 2020 conference was scheduled to be held in and around Derby. Although we’ve moved into a virtual space, we want to shine a spotlight on great practice in the East Midllands, including virtual visits and performances from Baby People, Hubbub Theatre Company, Air Arts, Derby Museums and more…

Panellists include Esther Fox (Accentuate), John McMahon (Arts Council England), Ian Solomon Kawall (co-founder of May Project Gardens), Kiz Bangerh (Hip Hop Heals), Prof Helen Chatterjee (UCL), Farhana Yamin (Think & Do Camden), Farah Ahmed (Julie's Bicycle), Jennifer Farmer & Zoë Palmer (artists, Season for Change), Hilary Jennings (Happy Museum), Baby J (Baby People), Suzy Willson (Clod Ensemble/Performing Medicine), Kirsty Stansfield (Tracing Autonomy), Sandra Griffths (Red Earth Collective), Olatunde Spence (Akoma Healing H'Arts), Alistair Gentry (Artist), Frances Northrop (independent researcher/ New Economics Foundation), and many more......

Notes on the Airmeet Platform

The event will be held on Airmeet. No app is required, but attendees will need to use the a laptop or desktop for optimum experience and performance with Google Chrome 79+, Firefox 76+, Internet Edge or Brave browsers. Minimum internet speed of 10mbps is also required for full interaction.

We will be in touch closer to the time with access links and information on how to best make use of the networking opportunities the platform has to offer. We will also be opening the event earlier on each day to enable attendees to test out the platform and provide technical support, before the conference activities begin.

Access Requirements

We will be providing captioning for all panels. If you have any other access requirements, please do contact the CHWA Team on info@culturehealthandwellbeing.org.uk.

Tickets

We know that it has been a challenging year for everyone in our sector. In response, we have simplified our ticket offer and set our ticket prices at a lower rate.

There is one ticket option, with three different fees. We ask that people select a ticket option that best reflects their circumstances.

Shared Tickets

If you are unable to attend the whole event, you are welcome to share your ticket with one other attendee. Using the same email address (that is used to register the ticket), two different delegates can attend at alternative times throughout the conference.

Bursaries

We are offering 30 bursaries to people who would otherwise not be able to attend due to financial constraints. The deadline for this opporuntiy has passed.

2020 Delegates

We are in contact with existing delegates booked to attend the March 2020 conference via both Eventzilla and our email accounts.

Please contact us at info@culturehealthandwellbeing.org.uk, if you have a ticket for the original conference and haven't yet received this information.
