Event description

Description

The Curation Society presents A Curators' Conference: Conversations on the Para-curatorial. The first of a series of conversations with curators working in various fields of the arts and culture, be it fashion, fine art, the digital world and more.

With the growing canon of exhibitions and literature around the culture and practice of curating, we felt the need to add to this expanding dialogue with perspectives from those who have been practicing within the art world for years, alongside younger, emerging curators who have become a part of the conversation in more recent times. This conference brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds and knowledge-bases, to explore the expansive idea of curating, its phenomenology and what the future might hold for us following the 20th/21st century’s ‘curatorial boom’. Whether you are a practitioner in the field of arts, an aspiring curator, artist, galleriest or simply an avid lover of arts and culture, we invite you to join us on this day as we exchange ideas and initate conversations about the para-curatorial.

In view of International Women's Day on the 8th of March, this conference also looks to celebrate female representation in the arts, whilst critically questioning its efficacy and challenges through a panel dicussion.

The full speaker line-up will be revealed shortly.
