This is a Day Workshop for exploring the basic techniques of applying paint.

As a beginner, it can be difficult and sometimes overwhelming to work out which type of paint is the one for you. Come along to this Workshop and try out different wet & dry mediums like Watercolours, Watercolour Pencils, Acrylics, Soft Pastels & Pastel Pencils.

Starting to learn to paint is exciting, but can be confusing and daunting too. So many different paints to use, that all create different effects. Which one will be right for you? If you’re not sure, then this Day Workshop is ideal, as you can spend the day trying out the different types of paint and pencils without committing to a huge financial layout up front. Once you know which is the right paint for you, your confidence will be much greater as you start your new creative journey.

Your tutor for this workshop is Gail Wareham, who has been teaching visual arts for over twenty years. Her Gallery & Teaching Studio, located on the beautiful Hirsel Estate in Coldstream, is the perfect venue with plenty of parking, an on-site cafe, and woodland walks. The Studio is comfortable and fully equipped for students to relax in and enjoy learning new creative skills.
