STUDIO | A Day of Sanskrit, Chanting & Yoga Philosophy

If you have ever wanted to learn about yoga's earliest language system while exploring its beautiful sounds, then this is the right workshop for you!

The aim of this day-long course is to introduce us to the Sanskrit phonetic system, so that we can learn how to properly pronounce the sounds in its alphabet.

Then, in order to put these new found skills to good use, we will journey back through time into yoga philosophy and its scriptural heritage (The Upanishads, The Bhagavad Gītā, The Yoga Sūtras), and learn to chant some key verses found therein. Finally, our time together will be about discovering the deep relevance of yoga philosophy and its teachings, and how it applies to our lives today.

Yoga, as we all know, is so much more than a physical practice. When we explore it's history, what we find is a fascinating account of ancient seekers looking for the answers to the fundamental questions we ask ourselves.

Yoga's history is all about the adventure of seeking and finding, so that life can be lived in fullness of peace, health and knowledge.

Perfect for:

* This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to broaden their understanding of yoga as a spiritual practice.

* Perfect for yoga teachers; new and experienced

* Perfect for aspiring yoga teachers

About Hali

Hali has been immersed in the world of yoga since she was a young child of just 5 years old. She spent the better part of her teenage and early adult years living and studying all things yoga at the International Meditation Institute in the North Western Himalayas in India. It was during these incredible years where she was exposed to yoga philosphy and scripture study, Sanskrit and chanting, as well as hatha and restorative yoga, medtation and traditional prānāyām practices. She is the author of two books on yoga history and philosophy, and has been training teachers in Toronto where she makes her home, as well as in India, since 2001.
