Description

What was it like to live in Dorchester during WW1?

You are invited to join us for a varied evening exploring Dorchester’s local history during the 1st World War.

Speakers include Brian Bates (local Historian), Chris Copson( Curator at The Military Keep), Anna-Maria Geare (The Decadettes), Will Wallis - auctioneer, Andrew Grassby - stonemason, and representatives from the Hardy Society, Dorset History Centre, and Gould's Department Store, who will share their expertise of how the war impacted on the local community.

The evening will also include short excerpts from our our play - “When The Men Marched Away.” Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th March 2018 7pm Thomas Hardye School Theatre, Queen's Avenue, Dorchester

“When The Men Marched Away” a play researched and written by pupils from St Osmund’s School, commemorating the lives of those who fought in WW1 and remembering those who lived in and around Dorchester 1914-18
