Event Description

Join the Scottish Community Coalition on Energy for the evening reception ‘A Fair Energy Deal for Scottish Communities’.

Community-owned energy is today powering national and community wealth building more than any other form of green energy, per megawatt. This reception will allow MSPs to meet the communities driving this success, and will mark 20 years since the first community-owned renewables project in Scotland. Learn about the huge opportunities for growth that lie ahead and be part of the conversation about a fair energy deal for Scottish communities: what it looks like and why it’s essential.

Come and meet community energy groups, including Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust who developed Scotland's first community-owned turbines over 20 years ago, and Radio City Association who have just developed Scotland’s first subsidy-free community-owned turbine in post-industrial North Ayrshire.

The reception is sponsored by: Rhoda Grant MSP and Patrick Harvie MSP
