Arthur Sempebwa

Writer, Director and Filmmaker

Foolish Boy and his newest project My Brother's Keeper

Arthur moved to the UK in 1995 at the age of 8 from Uganda, where he developed a love for art, drama and dance. Based in north London he developed this love further by studying Graphic Design in LCC (London College of Communication) and forming one of London’s finest underground street-dance crews,Goodfoot, in 2005. After years of performing on some of the biggest stages in London including Sadlers Wells and the O2 Arena, he now invests his knowledge of performance in working with children, where he directs/choreographs stage shows at the Arts Depot in north London.

In 2011 Arthur decided to “pursue the peculiar” by fusing his love for comedy and his faith in God. Thus KuKu Studioz was born, an independent film company with its unique brand GOMEDY (Gospel Comedy) that aims to bring to your screen laugh out loud, highly infectious and thought provoking films. Since then, Arthur relentlessly continues to study the art of story telling in the film medium by directing numerous comedy short films and working with charities on their video productions.

Arthur is currently in pre-production of his new short film "My Boss' Wife". A thought provoking story of overcoming temptation, delivered through KuKu Studioz' unique blend of comedy and Gospel truth.

Toyin Agbetu

Writer, Director and Filmmaker

Toyin Agbetu is a community educator, film maker, artist-activist, and founder of Ligali, a pan African human rights based organisation that challenges the misrepresentation of African people, culture and history in the British media. He is the author of Ukweli – A Political and Spiritual Basis for Pan Africanism and promotes a collaborative African philosophy dedicated to community development.

In 2013 he co-curated Hackney Museums’ award winning Sankofa exhibition on the history of African History Month and has just released a film on the ideology and politics of beauty through his lens as a philosopher and philologist.
