Event description
Biographer Patrick Wright discusses his new book which looks at the great German writer, and his strange self-exile in Kent.

About this event

Please note this event has been postponed to 9th March 2022.

Wright's The Sea Has me in View Again is the story of one of Germany's greatest post-war writers, and how he settled on Sheppey and wrote his epic 'Anniversaries'. Wright interleaves his investigation with interludes from his own studenthood in Canterbury's back streets, so that to describe his book as immersive is like calling Citizen Kane a biopic.

Masks, distanced seating and Track-and-Trace compulsory at this live event. Please note this event may be postponed or cancelled depending on changing guidance on the developing coronavirus situation.
