About this event

Join us for a lovely afternoon of teddy bear fun — a relaxed hour with playful activities to dip in and out of at your own pace. Think teddy-themed crafts 🎨, little play corners 🧸, and a chance for teddies (and their humans) to mingle.

We’ll also share a special storytime 📖 — we’re not giving away the title, but we’re pretty sure some of you can guess what it might be!

To finish, we’ll gather around a picnic-style bring-and-share tea 🧁🥪🍓 — just bring a little something for the table. Tea and coffee will be on hand for the grown-ups ☕🫖 (because teddies aren’t the only ones who enjoy a sit-down).

And don’t forget to stop by our teddy photo booth 📸 — the perfect spot to capture a paw-trait or two before you head home!

And remember – “You’d better not go alone” – so bring your favourite Teddy!

Frequently asked questions

Is this event really for everyone?

Yes! Whether you're a regular at St John’s, part of AllStars or Heroes, or have never set foot in a church before — you’re so welcome.

Do I need to book tickets?

Nope! It’s completely free. We just ask you to sign up so we know how many people to expect — and how much caffeine to brew!

What should we bring?

Just yourselves, maybe some friends, a teddy companion, and a thirst for some teddy fun! Oh - and a little something for the bring-and-share picnic tea if you can.

What ages is this for?

It’s designed with families in mind, but there’s something for everyone and absolutely no age limit. Big kids and grown-ups tend to have fun too!

Will there be food?

Yes! It's a bring-and-share tea - everyone brings a little something for the picnic table, and together we'll have a delicious spread to enjoy. Sweet or savoury, shop-bought or homemade, all contributions are welcome!

Is there parking nearby?

There is a small church car park, and parking is also available on the roads around the church.

What about toilets and baby changing?

We’ve got you covered! Toilets, an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities, and step-free access to the church building are all available.

Can I bring family/friends who don't go to church?

Absolutely! This is for anyone who enjoys teddy bear fun.

Can I drop my children off and come back later?

Sorry, this isn’t a drop-and-go event! Children need to be supervised by a parent or carer at all times. But don’t worry — there’s plenty of fun for grown-ups too (plus tea and coffee to keep you going!).
