University of Leeds staff, students and members of the public are invited to share their thoughts and ideas for a new public art commission on campus, for the UIEC building. We'll be discussing the following:

Can public art make a positive landmark in the cityscape?

Can public art give character and identity to place-making?

What do we like about existing public art on campus and in the wider city of Leeds?

What do we want the new sculpture to say about the University and UIEC?

The University Innovation and Enterprise Centre (UIEC) represents a £40m investment in a 10,000m2 purpose built business-university collaboration space. Due to open in late summer 2018, the Centre will be a fantastic environment for business people to work, connect and collaborate with each other, University staff and representatives of the wider business support and funding community to drive innovation, growth, productivity and competitive advantage.

University and business cultures are quite different, and the UIEC will promote new ways of working. A key part of this is positioning the Centre as a neutral space to encourage both business people and University researchers to more collaborative, sharing and developing ideas and projects.
