A Gentle Way with Dementia
Wed 22 March 2017, 10:00 – 12:30 GMT
Are you a carer or family member for a person living with dementia? Are you concerned about a friend, neighbour or client living with dementia?
Do you struggle with frustration when they repeat themselves over and over? Would you like to learn how to respond to their behaviours and communications in a way which helps you and the person with dementia?
My workshop will give you lots of techniques to help you work with or care for a person with dementia in deeply fulfilling ways.
This is an interactive and experiential workshop for families of people with dementia, health and social care professionals and students supporting people living with dementia.
We will explore the principles and benefits of person centred dementia support and positive person work; and experience tasters of reminiscence therapy, memory box curation, life story work and life review therapy, cognitive stimulation therapy and validation.
Resource packs will be available to take away.
