Jane Abramson, a volunteer guide, will lead us on a photographic tour of this most prominent and familiar of Leeds landmarks. As well as highlighting the architectural features and the use of different buildings that help understand how the Abbey functioned day-to-day, she will share some fascinating stories and anecdotes that enable us to really appreciate what life must have been like for the monks that lived there.

Taking us beyond the picturesque ruins, and giving us the benefit of her guide’s perspective, her talk will give us a real sense of what went on within the walls. This is what that makes Kirkstall Abbey such a fascinating part of the city’s heritage.
