Since 1707, Fortnum & Mason has championed the exceptional work and time-honoured making methods of talented artisans around the world.Earlier this year, we added a new chapter to that storied history, by launching a search for the UK & Ireland’s very best new and undiscovered food and drink producers.
And now, after an impossibly competitive and very delicious judging process, we’re delighted to introduce the winners of our first Open Call – each of which will soon be found on the shelves at Fortnum's.
About Spiced Sussex:
We are proud to work with one of our Fortnum & Makers, Spiced Sussex. They're an artisan chilli condiment business based in the heart of Brighton called Spiced Sussex. They roast and smoke everything with live fire using sustainably sourced local wood. They’re all about flavour over crazy, chilli heat and have current Great Taste awards for all of our products. They’re the only condiment company that solely roasts with wood, so a different spin to other businesses offering condiments.
High quality ingredients and provenance are key to their products, they use very few ingredients with no artificial additives, their products have few carefully selected ingredients. The Finishing Salt Contains 3, Infused Oil 4 and Hot Sauce 11.

Get ready to fire up your tastebuds! We're hosting a Hot Chilli Market spotlighting the bold and smoky flavours of Spiced Sussex — featuring their signature:
- Naga & Fennel Hot Sauce
- Woodfired Nage & Fennel Finishing Salt
- Naga & Fennel Infused Rapeseed Oil
This isn’t just a tasting — it’s a full flavour experience. You'll be able to sample a variety of creative recipes made using the products, from cocktails and mocktails with a spicy twist, to simple-yet-impressive dishes you can recreate at home. Whether you’re into mixing drinks, elevating everyday meals, or adding a smoky kick to your weekend BBQ, you’ll find ideas to spark your culinary creativity.
We’ll be joined by founder Ben Prokopowicz, who’ll be sharing expert tips, product insights, and inspiration for how to use fire-roasted condiments to bring serious flavour to your kitchen.
Perfect for food lovers, spice seekers, and anyone curious about cooking with smoke and fire.
This session will last two hours, in which you will able to join at any time during 14:00 - 16:00. This ticket will include a Spiced Sussex Finishing Salt.
