Overview

This series provides a deeper understanding of the diverse spiritual and religious views around death, dying, and funeral practices.

Our webinar series on Religious, non-religious and cultural perspectives on end-of-life and funeral care continues with a deep look into the humanist perspective. This series will provide care homes, community groups, palliative care nurses, and other professionals with a deeper understanding of the diverse spiritual and religious views around death, dying, and funeral practices - and what this means for their practice, and for the people they support.

The session would involve a short presentation (around 40 minutes) about the Humanist perspective on end-of-life care and funeral customs, followed by a Q&A session.

The webinar is hosted by Sarah Jones, founder of Full Circle Funerals and our guest speaker is Hannah McKerchar - Humanist celebrant and trainer.

Hannah is a practicing humanist and humanist celebrant who has supported more than 1000 families to create funeral ceremonies. She visits schools to talk about humanism and supports volunteers at Humanists UK. She is back by popular demand after her engaging and informative webinar in 2025.
