Take a journey along the Stockton & Darlington Railway as two local authors talk about their new books that help celebrate the 200th anniversary of the railway that got the world on track.
Caroline Hardie and Chris Lloyd will use photographs and stories from their books to take people on a wander along the line and through two centuries of history.
Caroline has recently produced for the Friends of the S&DR a coffee table book of pictures of the line as it looks today. Many of the pictures were taken by renowned Darlington photographer Peter Giroux. Caroline has also written Little Loco’s Big Day, which is a children’s book about the opening of the railway.
Chris, who writes the Echo Memories supplement in The Northern Echo, has published a bookazine, Stockton & Darlington 200, which tells how the world-changing line came into being.
