The Project: A Journey Through East Meets West

Experience the grace and rhythm of traditional Chinese calligraphy in this interactive course and discover how different cultures convey meaning through distinct forms, tools, and aesthetics. You'll practice the same set of words as in the English Calligraphy sessions (available to book separately), revealing how different cultures convey the same meaning through distinct scripts and aesthetics.

Participants will have the opportunity to contribute their finished work to a public exhibition in January 2026.

This Workshop: Chinese Calligraphy

This workshop will run over 4 sessions on the following dates:

Tuesday 21st October, 3-5pm

Tuesday 28th October, 3-5pm

Tuesday 4th November, 3-5pm

Tuesday 11th November, 3-5pm

Tickets are free, supported by the RBKC Arts Grant

Over the four sessions, you will receive personalised guidance and hands-on experience. It is important that participants attend all four sessions, so please only book a space if you are able to commit to the dates and times above.

Enrolling in both the Chinese and English Calligraphy classes offers the most complete experience of our East Meets West series, giving you the chance to explore parallel scripts and create a unique dual-language piece for exhibition.
