A journey through time in St Albans Buildings
Overview
SAHAAS, in conjunction with B.I.D. who have recently erected banners in the City Centre celebrating St Albans buildings, will be holding a series of eight short talks on the morning of Saturday 22 November in Dagnall Street Baptist Church. The talks will celebrate the long history and diversity of St Albans' buildings from Roman times to the twentieth century. The buildings covered will be:
The Roman Theatre
The Abbey Gatehouse
The Clock Tower
The White Hart
Lee Hall
The Marlborough Almshouses
Samuel Ryder's Seed Hall
The Alban Arena
There is no charge, but to manage numbers for health and safety reasons please register your intention to attend by clicking on the button above right.
Everyone is welcome to attend, so do tell friends and family.
Doors will open at 9.45am, with the talks starting at 10.15am and finishing promptly at 11.45am when you can make your way to Romeland for the unveiling of a Blue Plaque to John Chapple, who will be the subject of a Society lecture on 25 November.
Please enter the church via the main steps at the front, or via the slope down from the car park if you need to use the lift.
