Join us for this concert, sung by the Chapel Consort of Voices, which celebrates the quadricentennial year of the Accession to the throne of Charles I and also the death of Orlando Gibbons in 1625.
Under the star encrusted ceiling of Henry VIII we will hear pieces, some of which were performed at the Coronation of Charles I in 1626. Other works by composers of the era will complete our programme in the intimate setting of the Chapel Royal.
Composers include:
Thomas Tomkins (1572-1656)
Orlando Gibbons (1583-1625)
Thomas Weelkes (c.1576-1623)
William Byrd (c.1540-1623)
This concert will be followed by a fizz reception, which is included in the ticket price - which will be located where the remains of Henry VIII's private apartments stand.
All proceeds go towards supporting the life, music and witness of the Chapel Royal.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Tickets are priced at £32 and, as this is a fundraising event we kindly ask to you pay the Eventbrite Fees which are unavoidable.
