Event description

Description

What does a knowledge-based curriculum look like at primary level? What are the implications for assessment? How do you plan a knowledge-based primary lesson?

This course will answer these questions after outlining the reasons why a focus on knowledge acquisition at primary level is crucial for literacy. The course will explain the principles which should underpin curriculum choices at primary level and move on to provide a highly practical implementation plan. Useful resources and examples of lessons will be made available.

Attendees will take away an understanding of the principles that will allow them to design their own knowledge-based curriculum and practical models of what a knowledge-based curriculum and its assessment can look like.

Who should attend?

Primary headteachers, primary senior leaders and primary subject leads.
