This longer length, half price, end of summer walk is similar in design to my Twixtmas routes – we walk for a couple of hours, then stop for lunch before continuing for another two hours*.

The Royal Parks in central London offer woodland spaces, manicured rose gardens, carefully-designed vistas, marvellous memorials, lakes and playgrounds – something for everyone. Yet it often amazes me that many Londoners merely nip in at lunchtime to sit on a bench and eat a sandwich, eyes glued to a screen whilst catching up with social media, or to attend large ticketed entertainment events. As such, they rarely experience the diverse and varied spaces available.

Join me to find out more – this 2-part walk* takes us through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park in the morning and, after a stop for lunch, across Hyde Park Corner to look at the fine memorials and artworks before dipping into Green Park and St James's Park, ending adjacent to Whitehall.

Along the way, I will point out and talk about the lesser-visited hidden places, keeping mostly away from the well-visited locations, so no Peter Pan or Albert Memorial, though you will get some great views of the royal palaces and other London landmarks.

As a regular volunteer guide for The Royal Parks, I will have plenty of information to share with you about the history, the design and the many interesting features within these marvellous public spaces.

Many thanks." / "You are right, we need to look up and around more." / "Next time we are back in London we will definitely be joining you for another walk." / More feedback here

My guiding style is inclusive, open and friendly. I design and research every tour myself – in fact, the research never ends. The walks and talks I offer are all on subjects that intrigue me and each one highlights a different facet of my personality. I am particularly interested in the architecture of our ever-changing streets and the little details on and above them. For more information, please visit www.janeslondonwalks.com
