Join us for an evening with author and veteran QC William Clegg, as he discusses his debut legal memoir "Under the Wig".

William built his early career fighting cases at Chelmsford Crown Court. In this memoir, he revisits his most intriguing murder trials, from the acquittal of Colin Stagg to the shooting of Jill Dando, to the man given life - because of an earprint.
William many murder cases include the famous The Chillenden Murders as well as defending Britain's first 'Nazi war criminal' and he also represented Vincent Tabak, who was accused and convicted of murdering Joanna Yeates, saying his conduct was “frankly disgusting”.

Hear William discuss his memoir, the gripping secrets of his profession and the fascinating reality of a murder trial.

Biography
William Clegg QC is one of the most celebrated advocates of the English bar, specialising in serious crime.

A barrister for 47 years, he has been the go-to lawyer for complex murder and fraud cases for decades and has fought over 100 murder cases, more than any English barrister currently practising the law.

In his vivid memoir "Under the Wig" he revisits his most notorious and intriguing trials, including the Wimbledon Common Murder, the murder of Lin and Megan Russell and the as-yet unsolved murder of Jill Dando.
