Event description
Free half-day conference aimed at A Level Sociology students, featuring talks from leading UCL academics featured on the syllabus.

About this Event

Calling all Sociology A Level students and teachers!

You are warmly invited to meet, hear from and discuss with leading UCL Institute of Education (IOE) academics featured on the A Level Sociology syllabus.

This free-to-attend packed half-day event is tailored to help A Level Sociology students gain a deeper understanding and insight into current and classic sociology of education research, theory and methodological approaches.

We welcome individual students and school/college groups led by teachers (please include any staff in ticket numbers).

The conference programme is still being finalised - speaker details to be confirmed soon (but these will include Professor Louise Archer & Professor Becky Francis).

A teacher who attended last year's event said:

"[My students] enjoyed hearing from the sociologists that they read about in their text books. This really helped to bring sociology alive for them, helping to provide them with relevant examples of research that they can include in their exam answers and making sociology of education more relevant. They enjoyed the format and the opportunity to ask questions and speak to the sociologists at the end."
