Biography

Ramiro Tomala is a native of the island of Santa Cruz , Galápagos Islands.

Ramiro had always a passion for nature and communicating with people , so as a teenager he started learning English and that led him to have contact with the tourism world. Ramiro holds a master degree in Education, he was a teacher for a few years both in the US and in Galapagos but he always felt the need to be closer to nature and share knowledge about these beautiful islands with tourists who would come and listen! This led him to become a naturalist guide in Galapagos where he has worked for numerous reputable companies . At the moment he works as an Expedition Leader for Metropolitan Touring onboard the Santa Cruz 2. Ramiro loves his job and is a proud ambassador of his islands. Among Ramiro’s hobbies are : traveling , cycling , listening to music , discovering new cultures among many others . So far he has been to over 50 countries in the world !
