This inspiring half day session will discuss the importance of literacy tools for life across and beyond the English curriculum - including rediscovering the importance of good grammar for powerful, effective and exciting communication, both written and spoken.
Lindsay Pickton provides thought-provoking and practical training in diverse aspects of English, from grammar and spelling to drama and the enjoyment of reading - linking all of these to the impact we can make on children's written and spoken English, and eventual life chances.
Lucy Mathieson (Wyvil) and team will also give an update on the Grammar Masters project being developed as a teaching resource initially for Year 3 in the Oval Learning Cluster and beyond, with thanks to support from SHINE Trust.
We're delighted to be joined by our neighbours at the National Literacy Trust.
Half day - please choose either morning or afternoon session. All welcome from all phases across Oval Learning Cluster schools - senior leaders, literacy leaders, teaching assistants, support staff from primary secondary and special schools. Teachers and teaching assistants working in Y3,4,5 are particularly encouraged to come along.
