Join the creative team behind Lighthouse Theatre's radio plays in this two-hour workshop exploring script, sound and voice in a genre of performance storytelling that dates back over 100 years.
Participants will explore the rich history of the radio play genre and how it has been adapted for the stage in recent years. You will discover how scripts come to life through the medium of voice and sound and have the opportunity to try out the specialised acting techniques of the style.
Experimenting with musical instruments and miscellaneous objects, you will discover how foley artistry brings to life the sounds, atmospheres and locations of the story, alongside how the voice can be used in different ways to represent multiple different characters within a small cast.
The workshop is designed for everyone regardless of performance experience or abilities. Places are limited, so booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
Supported by Arts Council Wales, Tŷ Cerdd and Pontardawe Arts Centre.
