A Magical Family Friendly History Tour
Event Information
About this Event
Starting at Aldgate Square we follow the history, artwork and successive waves of immigration into the area – with magic.
This includes St Botolph’s Church, The Aldgate School, the original Gate and Chaucer himself living here, The “Faith in the City” exhibition, “Sculpture in the City” light artwork Dutch/Light by Jyll Bradley and “Sanctuary” Sculpture by the inspirational artist Naomi Blake.
We then pass along the infamous Aldgate Pump, celebrating the Jewish community coming to the area in the 1650s, along down the path of the Ancient London Wall, via a long-vanished monastery, a large chunk of the still standing Roman Wall, to a view of the Tower of London and finally the River Thames.
Throughout the tour there will be interactive magic which people will be able to take part in!
The virtual tour will take place online. Please register for a ticket, and access details will be sent to you in advance of the event
