Join us for a reflective and scenic walk through two of London’s most iconic Royal Parks, St James’s Park and Regent’s Park as we explore the spaces chosen to honour Queen Elizabeth II’s life of service. The journey begins at Victoria Station and unfolds through leafy avenues, historic monuments, and future memorial sites that will shape the capital’s tribute to Britain’s longest-reigning monarch.
From Victoria Station, we stroll past Buckingham Palace and enter St James’s Park, where the UK’s national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II will be located. Designed by Foster + Partners. The memorials here will include a translucent glass bridge inspired by the Queen Mary fringe tiara, a statue of the Queen on horseback, and a statue of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh together.
We relocate by bus to Regent’s Park so bring your contactless cards to cover the short journey. Here a memorial garden is being created in a former plant nursery behind the Broadwalk Espresso Bar. Opening in 2026, the garden will include, a central promenade symbolising the Queen’s unwavering service, a large pond, pergola, and lookout tower. Many of the plants are designed to be climate resilient to cope with future challenges. This tranquil two-acre space will offer a quiet counterpoint to the grandeur of St James’s Park. Currently, we will only be able to glimpse the future site, as site is not set to open to the public until next year.
This walk invites us to witness the shaping of memory in real time as London prepares to honour Queen Elizabeth II not just with statues and gardens, but with spaces that invite reflection, unity, and connection. Whether you’re drawn by history, horticulture, or heritage, this route offers a poignant way to engage with the city’s evolving tribute to a remarkable reign. The official end of the walk is at the Expresso bar, and you are optionally invited to continue along the Broadwalk where we take refreshments in a nearby pub. The total walking distance is approximately 3 mile. The contact media for the day is info@event-station.co.uk.
