It is 1945. One of history's cruellest figures: Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring. Hitler’s brilliant, brutal Second in Command, a man the Fuhrer himself calls ‘as cold as ice’. Göring’s decadent world is about to collapse. As the allied forces close in, the action sweeps from his sumptuous forest hideaway at Carinhall to Courtroom 600 at Nuremberg’s Palace of Justice, where this charismatic and calculating master manipulator will engage in a battle of wits with psychologists and prosecutors. As the evidence mounts against him, friends and adversaries are drawn into the final maelstrom. Some of them will learn too late that though power is intoxicating, it is the most dangerous drug of all.

P.S. Lynch is a writer and teacher with over twenty years’ experience in international education. An expert in conspiracy films and literature, he has lectured in Europe and the United States and his book on the subject, Terror Struck by Shadows was published by Lexington in 2022. He writes literature that provokes debate, including Cranley Gardens, his recent poetry anthology about the killer Dennis Nilsen. Poems from the collection were Highly Commended in the 2024 Contextual Poetry Prize and published in the collection Night Terrors. More recently his poetry has been shortlisted for the Dark Poets Society Poetry Prize. He lives in the Swiss Alps and is a proud supporter of PEN International.

We are delighted to welcome P.S. Lynch to Heffers to discuss this fantastic new work on the 7th of October.
