About this event
Ask yourself the following questions:
- What do you see - in this moment?
- What do you see - in the future?
- Why does seeing differently matter now?
The urgency of slowing down to see differently
As human and ecological suffering deepens, uncertainty presses us to notice what’s really happening and how we might respond - as individuals, organisations or communities.
Learning to look again - to notice, observe, and really see - supports mental health, builds resilience, and creates more hopeful futures. At Look Again, we offer an award-winning approach to mindful photography: a calm and creative way of seeing, that brings curiosity and compassion into the present - helping us reframe “the now” and shape the future story we want to live.
This workshop offers a gentle, practical introduction to Look Again, with ways to:
👁️ Experience micro and macro perspectives
👁️ Connect inner and outer ways of seeing
👁️ Translate insight into personal, organisational, and planetary action
What to expect - an outline of the session
- Welcome & framing - why we need to see differently, and how mindful photography can help.
- Guided arrival - grounding practice with the camera/phone as an anchor.
- Foundations - the Look Again methodology: photography + mindfulness + nature. Attitudes include beginner’s mind, curiosity, trust, and letting go.
- Practical exploration
- Micro & macro: seeing the detail and the wider context
- Inner & outer lenses: seeing the felt state and our wider surroundings
- Slow photo walk: playful, low-tech practice indoors/outdoors - Reflection & sharing - group dialogue with photos, focusing on experience, not technical skill.
- Personal to planetary bridge - translate one insight into one practical action (for yourself, community, or planet).
- Closing reflection & next steps - group reflection, insights, and future pathways.
