Event description
Meet Alison Hindell, BBC Radio 4's new Commissioning Editor for Drama and Fiction

About this Event

There have recently been some big changes in the world of BBC audio drama, including a new commissioning editor for Radio 4 and the launch of BBC Sounds, as well as the first ever podcast commissioner too. Having been written off by some as a belonging to a bygone era, audio drama is now at the heart of the burgeoning digital media landscape.

As Radio 4's drama and fiction commissioner, Alison Hindell commissions more hours of audio drama than anyone else in the world. She'll be laying out her vision for the network and explaining the commissioning process, so this is an invaluable opportunity to learn how to get your work on air. And where better place to hold it than in BBC Birmingham's incredible radio drama studio, home of 'The Archers', the world's longest running continuing drama?!

The evening will be chaired by Tim Stimpson, radio writer and WGGB West Midlands rep. The talk will include an audience Q&A and will be followed by an informal drinks reception where you'll have the chance to mingle and network.

Tickets are FREE but for security reasons you will need to book in advance.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO BRING PHOTO I.D.

Many thanks to BBC Birmingham for hosting this event.
