A New Vison: textiles 1913 - 1935
This period witnessed dramatic changes, socially, geographically and stylistically, that both challenged and invigorated the textile industry. The revival of lost craft skills and the involvement of artists in design workshops resulted in fabrics that captured the dual character of the times. Bright and bold prints and weaves were produced side-by-side with exquisite, subtle cloths that captured the period's fascination with the exotic and fantastical. Join us for a look at a remarkable range of textiles.
Day includes: talk and two textile study sessions
Light refreshments will be provided.
