Event description
Watch shooting stars, satellites and constellations from the edge of this ancient land and ramp up your feel good factor too!

About this Event

From the edge of this ancient land, the vistas are simply breathtaking. On a clear day you can watch the sun set behind the Yorkshire Dales in the distance. Below are expansive, flat plains that go on as far as the eye can see. The skies here are simply huge.

On clear nights, you can see the Milky Way, constellations, satellites and shooting stars here. During this period it will be close to a new moon, making it perfect for stargazing. Since North York Moors is one of the best places in the UK to star gaze due to low levels of light pollution, we think it'll be awesome!

Regardless of whether you see the stars or not, walking at night is an incredibly powerful way of reconnecting you to nature. It calms the mind right down. And brings your attention to right here. Right now.

We’ll teach you how to ‘fine tune’ your senses, so you’ll be able to hear, see and sense more around you. You'll find out more about the universe and the stars. Not only will you learn something and be immersed in the natural world, your ‘feel-good’ factor will be ramped up too.

Obviously we cannot guarantee the weather. If cloudy or raining we'll do some mindful walking in the dark (now that's an experience) and talk about the universe. Going out in all weather leaves you feeling revitalised, but we will cancel if it isn't safe!

Event details

Please arrive in plenty of time to start at 5.30pm. We'll aim to be back between 8-8.30pm.

All walks will be around 4.5 miles and mainly on footpaths, but there will be rough ground, mud, steep hills and steps.

For your comfort, a good basic level of fitness will be needed for this activity.
