Event Details

Come and see three local bands performing to raise money for ‘A Mile in Her Shoes’ (AMIHS): a new social enterprise project that is being set up to inspire homeless women to find their feet through running.

- Main Street Jam: www.mainstreetjam.co.uk 7.30pm
- The Wild Cats (featuring Maria Hanrahan) 9pm
- Two Six Ones: http://twosixones.com 10pm

We request a £5 donation on the door please, with all proceeds go towards the project. There will be an auction on the night for a chance to win some great prizes, including a pair of standard class open train tickets to anywhere on the First Great Western rail network, a massage and a bespoke celebration cake designed to your specifications.

It would be helpful if you would register here if you plan to attend but you can just turn up on the night if you wish.

About A Mile in Her Shoes (AMIHS):
‘A Mile in her Shoes’ is being set up as a new social enterprise project that aims to introduce homeless women to running as a way of boosting fitness, confidence and self-esteem - benefits that all women can gain from running.

A forthcoming pilot scheme will see a group of women who are currently homeless try running at sessions with a qualified leader, helping them to run towards their own personal goals. The model will also be developed to encourage access to further support services to address other issues around homelessness. A national homelessness charity is providing input into the development of the model.

Your donations on the night will help raise the required funds to get the next stage of this project up and running. Everyone involved is giving their time for free and the money raised will be put towards appropriate footwear and sports bras for running where these items cannot be sourced for free or second-hand.

***Do you have any women’s fitness clothing or shoes that you could spare? If so, please bring them down on the night to donate towards the project ***
