About this event
Nossa Bossa is the acoustic live music project of recording and performing artists Angela Higney (Scotland) and Pete Parisetti (Italy). Songs composed, recorded and produced by the duo have appeared on over 200,000 CDs sold worldwide. They have performed over 1,500 live gigs in a variety of venues in Switzerland, Italy, France, the UK and the US, and even as far afield as Tajikistand and the Philippines. Nossa Bossa is a declaration of the duo's enduring love for Brazilian music, both Bossa Nova and the mesmerising style known as Brazilian Popular Music, mixing jazz, funk and R&B with Bossa and Brazilian rhythms. http://peterparisetti.com
Veronneau perform a multilingual mix of world-jazz original and classic songs in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau & British guitarist Ken Avis have five album releases which have made their mark on the music charts and on streaming platforms like Spotify where their version of "La Mer" has racked up over a million streams. In 2024 they toured in Portugal, Spain, France and Switzerland, and 2025 will see them touring in Canada, Sweden, the UK and the US, where they've played at venues like The Kennedy Center (before Trump!), Washington DC Jazz Festival, and the legendary Blues Alley. www.VeronneauMusic.com
The friendship and collaboration between the two couples dates back almost thrity years, when Angela and Lynn featured on the very first picture ever posted on the World Wide Web (https://www.bbc.co.uk/future/article/20160224-the-unlikely-photo-that-kickstarted-the-social-internet) and was recently rekindled during their performance - in front of 10,000+ adoring fans - for a reunion of Les Horribles Cernettes, the sound-of-the-sixties band which made them famous. (https://youtu.be/AzlTJieOvuo?t=46). This was followed by Angela and Pete's mini-tour of the US in April this year and now the four are reunited again for a series of intimate gigs in the UK.
This venue is fully wheelchair accessible.
