About this event

Welcome to A Night of EXtreme Adventure!

    Date: Wednesday 26th June 2024 - 19:00

Location: Hove Rugby Club (Hove Recreation Ground) Free Parking around the park and into the adjoining streets surrounding

An evening for all and any adventure seeking individuals!

Join us for a night of Xtreme expedition stories.

Serial Adventurists Neil Laughton, Tim Maw, Paul Clarke, Craig Wiltshire and Giles Fairmann will share their own stories, mishaps and Xtreme Adventures with you.

Whether you enjoy listening about, already actively participate in extreme adventures or are looking at planning your first adventure then this evening is for you!

In September 2024 these 5 individuals led by Neil Laughton will be attempting to set a new Guinness World Record for the 'Highest Bike Ride' in a remote region of Western Nepal near the village of Kakgot in The Himalayas..

To give you context how hard this expedition is ...Gil Bretschneider and Peer Schepanski, (both German) rode their mountain bikes at an altitude of 7,211 m. (23,658 ft.) on the slopes of the Muztagata peak in the Xinjiang province of China, on 10 July 2009). This record still stands!

Our local British and Nepalese team are looking to go higher!

Together with our world record attempt, we are also raising funds for one of the highest altitude schools in the world Tenzing Norgay School in NW Nepal - where appalling living conditions and poverty prevail.

In 2022 Neil Laughton received life-saving shelter for himself & his climbing team, within these very classrooms, after horrendous weather conditions forced the abandonment of the first world record attempt of the 'Highest Bike Ride' on Mount Putha Hiunchuli. In the school there was no heating and no electricity. Since then Neil has sent out laptops and solar panels and they need more.

You can help us to improve their conditions with the purchase of your ticket, (which also includes one free drink) any funds raised will go wholly & directly to this school.

Mark your calendars and get ready for a night of extreme adventure story telling!

Where will your next adventure take you…
