World Book Night is a national celebration of reading books and takes place every year as does 'World Book Day' which as passed and the next one will take place on the 7th March 2019. Books are given out across the UK with a focus on reaching those who don't read regularly and are gifted through organisations including prisons, libraries, colleges, hospitals, care homes, shelters, etc as well as by the Authors themselves in their own communities.

World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency, a national charity that inspires people to become confident and enthusiastic readers.

On the night there will be a range of Authors and Poets inspiring the audience, as well as Book Publishing Company 'London’s Finest Distribution' (LFD) specialising in creative urban writing.

Author: Von Mozar was raised on the Yardie gang-infested streets of Brixton, London.

In the 1990’s he was engulfed in acts of violence and death that debased and destroyed the minds of many who shared the same environment.

He escaped his destructive lifestyle by forcing himself to read, which in turn inspired him to write stories that people from his underprivileged background could engage with and relate to.

For two years, he self-studied creative writing. Then he went on to earn a Diploma in Literature and Creative Writing from The Open University.

Mozar began his writing career in 2002 and in 2004 completed his first novel, Ignorance Kills… He then followed up Sexfiend, Little Jamaica, and Mr. Bling.

Mozar has sold over 10,000 paperback books independently in London until he temporarily paused the marketing and sales of his book to pursue a degree in Creative Writing at Kingston University. During his time there, he tutored a vulnerable inner-city youth to write and publish a creative memoir of gang life,Through My Eyes: The Spirit of a Prince.

Mozar graduated in July 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Creative Writing and a 1st Class Special Study in Narrative Techniques in Popular Fiction.

Since leaving university, Mozar has explored a different writing genre, Romantic Realism, which selectively recreates reality as it should or could be. This has led Mozar to develop a crime-thriller series, which is planned for publication in 2018.

Author: Khadija Ward also a speaker, Leadership Coach and Creator of UniteBlackCash. Ms Ward wrote 'Black Sterling' the book that tells the story of who controls the system that controls you! This book gives a wealth of knowledge around the economic infrastructures and systems that society depends on!

Author: Mr Oh (Making Repetitive Creativity Happen) Hailing from the shadows of east London, Mr Oh is an independent anonymous author who has been writing for 16 years. Being completely independent, Mr Oh writes and releases books in his spare time with plans to make his hobby a successful life long dream. During his school days at Holy Family College, Mr Oh found himself hooked by the excellent story-telling of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. This awoke the story-writing bug in him.

He then found himself reading a book that changed everything; 'Cheaters' by Eric Jerome Dickey.

After reading that book, he said to himself, “I can do that!” So he did. He spent hours in front of blank Microsoft Word screens writing the first thing that would come into his mind, investigating the depths of his creative mind to see what would come to fruition.

In 2001, Mr Oh (under a different name) released his first novel called Who Is My Brother’s Keeper and the writing addiction had begun. Two years later, he followed up with his second book, the teen focussed Mind Blowing Decisions. Following a lengthy hiatus, Mr Oh jumped out of the darkness with the highly-popular Little Black Book volumes 1, 2 and 3. The collection of short stories garnered an underground buzz and has paved the way for future books that will entertain, inspire and engage readers; strictly 18 and over, not for the faint hearted!
