Event description

Description

The centrepiece of the night is the hugely talented spoken word performer Luke Wright performing his hit Edinburgh Fringe show Frankie Vah. Travel back in time to 1987, the miners strike, Red Wedge and Neil Kiinnock with Frankie Vah as he struggles to find something to believe in to believe while gorging on love, radical politics, and skuzzy indie stardom. Expect frenetic music, visceral verse, and a Morrissey-sized measure of heartache.

While opening the night hot foot from Brighton v Watford the original 1980s punk football poet Attila the Stockbroker celebrates the then, and now of keeping, on keeping on, complete with thrash mandola.

But its not a night just for marching boots, pack your dancing shoes too for South London soulful sensations Ese and the Vooduu People with a unique mix of rock, funk and grunge.

‘Veteran’ of the 1980’s New Variety Comedy circuit Kit Hardy will be reminding us too via jokes and wisecracks of what we used to laugh at back then plus a specially-commisioned DJ set ' Blue Mondays No More'

Special guest Lloyd Rusell Moyle MP looks back on a year when Kemptown was painted red and a new generation sang out lousd and proud Oh Jeremy Corbyn.

Licensed bar, disabled access, free car parking, 5 minute walk from buses to Brighton, 10 minute ealk from Lewes train station

All welcome for a memorable night out, guaranteed. Tickets just £6 (+ Eventrbrite booking fee). The night is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of the GMB, RMT and Unison Labour Link
