The what and the why

The objective of this conference is to share best practice around building schools and trusts where children and adults want to be. We have worked hard to put a programme together that will leave trust leaders feeling informed, inspired and energised. It will also be an opportunity to connect with other leaders and experts in the education sector.

Setting the scene with national research

We will begin the day with insights from Lord Knight, Laura McInerney and Ed Dorrell, to set the scene about the crises in student attendance and teacher retention, which have been among the biggest challenges our sector has faced over the last decade.

Sharing excellent practice

We will welcome several schools and trusts to the stage, who will share their excellent work in relation to attendance and retention.

Drawing on the expertise of participants

We will further harness the wisdom and experience of our participants in sessions on curriculum, belonging and innovation, facilitated by Mary Myatt, John Murphy and James Pope, along with brilliant leaders and students from around the country.

The day will be wrapped up with a powerful keynote from Evelyn Forde, and a final reflection and discussion session with Jim Knight, who will invite participants to enjoy a couple of hours of drinks and discussion after the event.

Ample opportunities for participation and inputMany leaders will have valuable insights and experiences to share. Our agenda includes dedicated time throughout the day for inputs from MAT leaders in the audience, ensuring that your voice and ideas are heard. Jim Knight will facilitate these discussions, allowing participants to contribute actively.

Networking and connection with no exhibition stands

We believe in the power of personal connections and unstructured networking. We will not have an exhibition area, so you can spend your time during the breaks and networking sessions engaging with peers.

Message from the organisers and partners

This is not a profit-generating event. The modest ticket fee is to help with covering substantial costs of the event, and to secure people’s commitment to be there on the day (free events often have a big drop-out rate). If the fee is a barrier for you, or if it would be easier with a discount, please let us know.

Lyfta is the main organiser and funder of this event, with support from WeWork and sector partners TeacherTapp and HeadsUp4HTs.

Instead of having exhibition stands, Lyfta, TeacherTapp and HeadsUp4HTs will use this opportunity to show how we make a credible contribution in a way that is relevant and adds value to the conference experience.
