Description

See A Plastic Ocean in Penrith

If you enjoyed the BBC's Blue Planet 2 series, dive a bit deeper into the problem of plastic in our oceans that Sir David Attenborough highlighted in the programmes.

A Plastic Ocean, released last year, takes you around the world to see just how much plastic is in our seas, how it got there, and the harm it's doing.

This multi-award-winning film also looks at what we can, and must, do about it. You'll see a few innovative schemes around the world to stop more plastic ending up in the ocean.

Here in Cumbria, with our rivers, lakes and coastline, it's easy to see how our own plastic waste could make its way into the sea, adding to this global problem. At this special screening, you'll also see a short film about some of the initiatives springing up in Penrith and around the county to reduce plastic waste.

There'll be a discussion session afterwards. Refreshments will be available to buy.

Hosted by Penrith Action for Community Transition (PACT) with a helping hand from Eden Arts.
