Half-day workshop at in Bristol, location to be confirmed, 9.30am -1pm.

For: Researchers, health professionals/other staff currently leading and supporting public involvement activities. This workshop is also open to members of the public who are, or will be, helping to evaluate involvement activities.

Please note: workshop participants are expected to already have some knowledge and/or experience of public involvement in research.

What: The workshop offers the opportunity to consider and start developing a practical approach to the evaluation of public involvement in research. It will provide an overview of the issues and challenges surrounding evaluation, and include a brief introduction to the National Standards for Public Involvement. It will outline three different approaches to evaluation and help participants consider which approach is best suited to their individual involvement context and needs.

It will be facilitated by Andy Gibson and colleagues from People in Health West of England.

Preparation: Participants will be asked to consider their aims and expectations of the workshop and reflect on their own public involvement activities beforehand.
