The day will first look at the Emotional and Psychic Development of Children and Adolescents.

The day will first look at the Emotional and Psychic Development of Children and Adolescents. 10am to 11am

Presentation- Lecture and Questions

We will then look at Assessment and the importance of parent work for younger children.11:30am to 1pm

Presentation and Case Studies.

The afternoon will focus on Techniques and Approaches to working with Children and Young People. 1:45pm to 3:30pm.

Tips and Ideas- case studies.

Kate Wright is a Psychoanalyst and former Teacher as well as Pre-School Counsellor.

She has a special interest in Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders and set up and ran a Resource in a Mainstream Secondary School for Young people with Autism and Challenging behaviour. Prior to that she worked with very young children with Additional Needs and their Families.

We hope to deliver this in a group setting at Apsley House, however if we are unable to do this, we will deliver the training online.

The SCC Counselling Service has been accredited by BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) since 2003.

The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) is a membership organisation and a registered charity that sets standards for therapeutic practice and provides information for therapists, clients of therapy, and the general public.

The CPD programme is designed principally for those working in the field of psychotherapy, counselling, social work and other caring professions.

Workshops usually take place at SCC – Apsley House, Tower Street, Taunton, TA1 4BH

Each year we run a series of workshops covering a range of topics and interests.
