It was not until the Tudor period that England acquired queens who reigned in their own right. But their predecessors were more than just wives of kings. Whether sovereign or consort, medieval England's queens made their presence felt in London.

Some were benefactors; some were at the heart of conspiracies. And some reshaped the nation.

Join me on a queenly progress through the City of London to hear of royal women who contributed to history - for good or ill!

Meet outside the exit from Cannon Street Underground Station, on Dowgate Hill (NOT the main line station on Cannon Street).

The walk will finish approximately two hours later, near Barbican Underground Station. For information on travel, please use Transport for London's Journey Planner.
